At the risk of reiterating what we’ve discussed in past posts, let’s explore a few more very cool benefits of LED Lighting:
- LED bulbs can last up to 100,000 hours. That’s over 11 years of continuous use! If you’re using an LED bulb just 12 hours a day (e.g. overnight hours), the bulb can last two full decades.
- LEDs are incredibly energy-efficient – up to 90% efficient. In other words, only 10% of energy gets wasted as heat. Traditional bulbs, meanwhile, often waste 80% or more of their power as heat.
- LEDs do not contain toxic elements (like mercury).
- LEDs do not emit UV radiation, which can be damaging to fine works of art or architectural elements.
- LEDs can stand up to environmentally challenging conditions, including very hot and cold temperatures.
- LEDs can operate from a low voltage power supply.
- You can switch LEDs on and off without deteriorating the lifecycle or harming the quality of light emitted.
