If you’ve driven through the San Francisco Bay Area recently, chances are you’ve caught a glimpse of the new Eastern Span of the Bay Bridge. The lighting poles for the new span’s cutting edge lighting was fabricated by Valmont Industries.

The new lighting system uses over 48,000 individual LEDs, manufactured by Musco Lighting, which are more energy efficient and longer lasting than the old sodium lights (they will only need to be changed every 10-15 years instead of in two). Other benefits of the LED street lighting include a more uniform glow and projection of light that reduces glare.

Valmont manufactures a broad selection of lighting poles, from the decorative to area lighting to traffic signal poles.
